African Development Bank Internship Programme
The African Development Bank (ADB) is now receiving applications for Session I of the 2011 Internship Program.
The broad objectives of the African Development Bank Internship program are to:
  • provide students with an opportunity to acquire professional and practical experience at the African Development Bank
  • provide the Bank with a pool of potential candidates for future recruitment purposes.
However applicants should not expect the internship to lead to immediate employment with the AfDB.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Applicants must be:
  • students, aged between eighteen (18) to thirty (30) years, and currently enrolled in a master’s level degree programme or its equivalent in a recognized public or private institution of higher learning. The candidate can apply for an internship within one year of having obtained such a degree.
  • provide a letter from their school confirming their enrollment.
  • citizens of one of the Bank’s member countries
  • applicants must be fluent in, at least, one of the Bank’s working languages (English or French).
The first Session of the 2011 Internship program is now open and will be closed on 15 September 2010

Job Title: Protocol Officer

Job Description:
- Build and maintain cordial relationships with the various Government agencies at international/domestic airports in order to facilitate effective ‘meet and greet’ services for approved MTN external and internal stakeholders
- Liaise with MTN Travel Department to ensure timely discharge of responsibilities
- Protect all approved MTNN s internal and external stakeholders from the threat of extortion or harassment by official and unofficial agencies at designated Nigerian airports and border posts
- Supervise escort patrol
- Arrange ’meet and greet’ services for Approved MTN internal and external stakeholders at designated airports and border posts
- Derive arrival and departure information/schedules derived from manifests provided by the Travel Department
- Inform security department of threat & risk observations
- Account for all assigned funds
- Prepare a monthly report on the activities at the airports
Job Conditions: Normal MTN N working conditions. Drivers license. May be required to work outside normal business hours
Reporting To: External Communications Manager
Required Skills:
- 1-2 years experience in protocol related duties
- Military experience would be an added advantage

MTN Nigeria Vacancies: Field Suppport Engineer (Team Lead) Lagos

Job Title: Field Suppport Engineer (Team Lead) Lagos

Job Description:
- Interface with equipment vendor and RF Planning for regional project requirements.
- Interface with transmission in maintaining and manage the transmission management system
- Maintain a sound working relationship between the network operations section and all associated parties, within the company and external.
- Administrative task of paying local power source bills
- Ensure timely review and approval of acceptance, testing, integration and cutover documentation related to regional operations
- Ensure that a routine programme is in place and monitor the performance of these O&M radio routines in the assigned region
- Ensure performance of BTS integration and acceptance tests in the assigned region.
- Ensure prompt availability of information on inventory of FSE within the assigned region.
- Review and recommend operation and maintenance procedures for regional FSE operations
- Ensure that the processes and procedures are followed through in all FSE activities within the assigned region.
- Prepare estimates annual budgetary needs (OPEX) for assigned region.
- Perform routine O&M procedures as prescribed for the Power, Transmission and BTS Radio networks.
- React to emergency faults and ensure that all faults are rectified promptly within contracted SLA.
- Ensure provision of power (requisite quality) to all sites within purview 24 hours a day
- Implement cross connect equipment in his designated area of the MTN Network
- Compile information on and report on the availability of the transmission network in light of the Service Level Agreement (SLA).
- To swiftly diagnose and clear any faults or alarms assigned by trouble ticket, or ensure escalation within time period stipulated in SLAs to correct parties if unable to fix. To close or forward all trouble tickets promptly.
- Maintain a sound working relationship between the network operations section and all associated parties, within the company and external.
- Implement approved software changes as directed with change requests.
- Ensure maintenance work undertaken by contractors meets MTN Nigeria’s specification.
- Ensure that all planned network expansions take place on schedule, Transmission spectrum, transceiver upgrades and downgrades, rectifier upgrades etc. to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a comprehensive set of records of all transmission links, BTS sites, power equipment and spares for all sites within designated area.
- Ensure all security and network Integrity documentation is completed and adhered to.
- Liaise with diesel contractors to ensure on-scheduled supply of diesel to sites within purview
Job Conditions:
Tool of trade vehicle provided Normal MTNN working conditions National travel Valid drivers license. On stand by 24/7 through out the year.
Reporting To: Regional Technical Officer Lagos
Required Skills:
Three (3) years hands-on radio network operations and maintenance experience in GSM environment, with at least two (2) years in a team leadership role

B.Sc. Electrical/Electronics (Telecommunications)
