JOB DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Supply Manager Packaging will be responsible for managing activities leading to the on time in full supplies of Local Packaging materials to support weekly production plans and overall business growth plans.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide the required and accurate information to internal customers on prices, cost drivers, supplier intelligence to support internal decision making and innovation
· He or she will also interact with Regional Material /Category supply managers and the capabilities team
· Develop and maintain a good knowledge of local supply market
· Use local market intelligence gathering to bring about proactively in internal decision making.
· Regular review of the forecast to the suppliers in line with production/S&OP trends
· Manage suppliers and third party logistics provider’s operational activities and give timely feedback through the reporting channel for effective decision making.
· Play an active role in cost saving initiatives and innovation Projects.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· A university graduate with at least 3 years experience in a similar purchasing role and 5 years management experience in any area of management
· A good understanding of packaging materials and technologies
· Experience in FMCG industry
· Ability to analyse and understand and work with numbers – a numerate person
· Self motivated and proactive person with a positive sense of urgency and has a strong work ethics
· Communicant
· Stable and progressive career – no job hoppers.
· Must possess demonstrable and measurable success in a similar role
· Must have the personal experience of all skills required in this profession
